Why did you choose Sprott Shaw College?
I could get enrolled easily without being on the waitlist.
How was the admissions process?
Easy back then.
What program did you choose and why?
LPN as I wanted to be a nurse.
What was the environment like during your time at Sprott Shaw College?
There was a lot of pressure since I had no nursing or science background. Things start to get tough in the third semester. Studying hard and not giving up are key. Your teachers are your best resource, and it helps to find a study buddy.
Where was your practicum or co-op and how was it?
It was awesome. Grateful to my teachers and preceptors for all their support.
How long did it take you to find a job after graduation?
Right away. There was no wait.
Where do you work? Can you explain your duties?
I worked at various places. I started as a casual at both Selkirk Senior Village and Parkwood Senior Living. I also began working casually at Tolmie Hospital, now known as Summit. Eventually, I became full-time at Berwick Royal Oak
If you could give advice to someone coming to Sprott Shaw, what would you say?
Never give up, Be yourself and study hard.
Is there anything else you would like to share?
I attended Sprott Shaw College, and although I initially struggled, the support from teachers like Heather, Ann, Phil, Samantha, and Diana was invaluable. With their help, I earned my LPN and later passed the NCLEX in the U.S. in 2025. I graduated in 2019, and this school played a major role in helping me achieve my dream. Highly recommend!
